BDSM Singles is full-featured adult dating site with a modest members database, so like many other sites in this category, it's worth performing a quick search on this site if you live in a major city, but if you live in a small town, it's hardly worth it. The site is easy to navigate and contains many of the same features that readers will have come to expect from a site of this nature, including the ability to perform all manner of searches, wink at other members, browse other members profiles and hardcore pics, video and instant messaging, access to chat rooms and forums and the ability to contact a member by internal e-mail. However, the members' database is very sparse and contains many members who, from their profile descriptions, do not seem to fit into the BDSM scene at all! Maybe they just wandered onto the wrong site, or maybe the members' database of BDSMSingles.com is actually a subset of a larger database of members that belongs to another site (this seems to be the norm for many sites of this type).
The thing we really liked about BDSMSingles.com was the fact that you could perform searches based on your zip code (or postal code), browse profiles in their entirety and see one fairly large picture of each member in their profile - and all without even having to sign up!
We particularly didn't like the sign-up process, which for men required them to enter their credit card details and gave them just 12 hours for free after which they were automatically billed! The search facility is inferior to other similar sites we previewed (see our top choices on the menu on the right). There are two searches - a quick search and an advanced search. The advanced search offers more features, including searching by country and state, but it doesn't allow you to search by "distance from your current location". Most dating sites allow this type of search, which is arguably the best search feature of all, and yet BDSM Singles lacks this incredibly useful search parameter! Also, the list of states to search by is limited to the US, meaning that if you're in the UK, the extent of your geographical search is to search for other members in the UK - not very useful! The database size is unknown, but when we performed a broad ranging search for a male looking for a female between 18 and 40 anywhere in the UK, we came up with just one match! A similar search for all states in the US revealed just 43 matches!
However, the major drawback to BDSM Singles has to be that it has so few members - but that could of course change! But for the time being, our advice to you is to spend your hard earned cash on a site with a much larger members' database - like IWantU Alternative Adult Dating or the world famous Alt.com.
